Check the EWG Skin Deep database to check your favorite brand of cosmetics and skin care products.  Just visit this site and type in the name of your make-up, lotions or sunscreens and you will get a rating on it based on the EWG scale.  You want it to be as close to zero as possible.  One is really good.  Two is ok and three means you might want to read the ingredients.
